Led by Jeff Martens and Donna DiNunzio
Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23
CEU's Available

There are eight limbs in the practice of yoga, and asana (physical postures) is just one of them. Discover the other seven limbs and learn how to apply them to live a powerful life of healing and self-transformation.

Saturday, June 22

11:30a-2p
Session 1 Yamas and Niyamas (2.5 hours)

We are very used to training our bodies, but devote relatively little time to training our mind.  This workshop will help you unlock the full potential of your mind.   Yamas and Niyamas represent the great vows and internal disciplines of all yoga practices.  As the first two of Patanjali's eight limbs of yoga, they are also keys to internal states of consciousness.  Living these vows with discipline taps us into untold grace and power.  Struggling outside of these precepts causes extreme dissonance which can give rise to stress and dis-ease.  Learn how to unlock the doors of your full potential in the areas of health, relationships, career and more by living a life guided by the deeper teachings of the Yamas and Niyamas.

Saturday, June 22

2:30-5p
Session 2: Practicing Asana with Compassion, Generosity, Faith and Devotion to Transform Your LIfe (2.5 hours)

Kindness, truth and devotion are essential ingredients to transforming the physical and mental body in your Asana practice.  Combining these Bhavas (or states of consciousness) elevates the practitioner to a whole new self-concept that is capable of transcending past ego-created limitations in the body and mind.  Learn how to apply these principles to any asana practice and discover the already liberated One who is practicing within.

Sunday, June 23

10a-12:30p
Session 3: Directing Vital Force of the Body: Pranayama Technique and Pratyahara (2.5 hours)

Working with the 4th and 5th limbs of yoga, we will discover that Pranayama (regulation of life-force) reflects and shapes our capacity to be present and well.  We will learn how to use this limb of yoga to transport ourselves to a new foundation of health, purification and revitalized presence.  Learning specific pranayama techniques that have been practiced for thousands of year designed to calm the nervous system and heal the body.  We will also work on deepening our understanding of Prayahara, the 5th limb of yoga.  We will use it to dismantle false foundations, thereby opening ourselves into Grace and healing.

Sunday, June 24

1-3p
Session 4: The Sacred Inner Limbs of Yoga: Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi (2 hours)

Dive deeper into your state of being to discover the source of healing through Dharana (Focused Attention), Dhyana (contemplation) and Samadhi (meditation, integration).  These last three internal limbs of yoga reveal how we can discover an inner power or strength that can far surpass our external circumstances and lead us to the guru or teacher within that connects us to the source of all healing. Join us to discover different applied meditation techniques and use the results to join opposites in the inner and outer world.

AUGUST

Dropping the Mask: Feeling the Way to Your True Self with Jeff Martens and Donna DiNunzio of Inner Vision Yoga. For Yoga Teachers and All Students. CEU's Available
Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4

Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj” - to yoke or unite.  False masks and unconscious role-playing  cause untold pain and suffering in our lives.  These strategies can be revealed and therefore resolved in our asana practice.  Learn how to recognize the afflictions and their negative archetypes in order to resolve them back to ho you truly are - united and free in the present moment.

SATURDAY
Session 1: Feeling is the Secret
Who are you and what are you really feeling?  Each one of us is a map of opposites that gives rise to afflictions or the Klesha.  False masks and painful roles originate from the place of identifying with past pain.  Learn to identify what you are really feeling and the ego’s false resolutions that only create more suffering.  Discover how positive and negative archetypes manifest afflictions in asana or yoga poses.   By uncovering these primal roles in the physical body we can then explore the energy and motivation of these archetypes in our daily life.

Session 2: You are the Present Moment
Who are you and what are you really changing or healing?  What does it mean to truly feel and listen without prejudice or judgment?  Learn the art of personal assessment and how to utilize this in your profession or work with others.  Through further exploration of the primal archetypes, we will explore the interaction between these false roles both within the body and with other states of consciousness.  By locating and opening ourselves to Truth, we will discover the vehicle of transformation as a seed within the heart of what challenges us the most.

SUNDAY
Session 3: First Aid for the Soul
Physiological and mental stress can literally reshape our bodies and repurpose our cells toward the perpetuation of fear.  What tools do we have once a Klesha has taken hold?  In this workshop we will experience Acute Spiritual First Aid: (meditation, mantra-I am statements, cultivating the opposite, revision, mantra and moving chi to dissolve thought energy)  We will apply these tools to our yoga poses and also explore the proper way to pray, surrender, and finding your voice in the spirit of true empowerment. Together we will join with others to discover our inner community.  Includes asana, journal and partner work.

Session 4: Releasing the Phantom Self
Evolving beyond our physical habits in a yoga pose or yoga flow requires Sacred Action -- What is it?  To mitigate the Kleshas brings us to the neutral point; living fully requires us to find a magnificent focus and go beyond the Kleshas as source of Karma and habit.  Explore and experience a whole new frontier in your yoga poses through the release of all that is not real.  Using teachings from the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras we will practice finding the root of misperception and transform it into a guide to higher living.  Includes role playing, asana, meditation, games, and breathwork.

Early registration rate $159 by 7/7, after $189
Single class early registration $45 by 7/7, after $65

Yin Yoga uses long-held postures that support us in accessing the deeper, more Yin parts of ourselves. In this training, we will look at how this practice can affect and enliven the physical, energetic and emotional bodies. Through this understanding we will explore ways to develop a personal Yin practice and how to incorporate Yin shapes and philosophy into any practice (personal or teaching). This training is designed both for Yoga teachers who are looking to understand and integrate the Yin Yoga practice into their teaching and for students who simply want to dive deeper into this quiet practice.
